Education & Experience:

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Aerodynamics with a minimum of eight years of experience with wind tunnel testing. Masters degree in Aerodynamic Engineering is a plus. Mechanical or related Engineering Bachelor degree may be considered if work history demonstrates a strong focus in wind tunnel testing. Specific experience with aerodynamic measurement techniques, wind tunnel design, aerodynamic theory, and force & moment resolution is required. Strong interpersonal skills are essential. Automotive background with a broad range of experience, including motorsports vehicle testing and rolling road systems is desired. Must be proficient in the use of personal computers and test data systems. Must speak and write English fluently. Additional relevant education may be substituted for a portion of the experience.

Roles & Responsibilities:

The duties will include the following:

• Serve as the aerodynamic expert for the wind tunnel facility, which shall include:
  o Lead and execute wind tunnel data quality assurance and process control testing, data analysis, and other supporting
   activities
o Troubleshoot and isolate problems with aerodynamic test performance or data quality
o Specify and procure equipment needed to support aerodynamic testing.
o Understand, document and improve work instructions and test procedures associated with testing
o Identify and implement modifications to data systems, reduction algorithms and procedures for maximum efficiency and

   data quality
o Identify opportunities for facility upgrades that will improve aerodynamic data quality and/or test efficiency, develop

   supporting proposals and associated business case, and implement upgrades
o Identify potential improvements in test procedures, test capabilities, manpower utilization, tunnel usage, and test

   scheduling with the goal of providing the best value services to the customer.
o Support the technical charter of facility through continuous improvement and technical communications (publications,

   presentations, etc)
 
Serve as a primary customer interface to facilitate successful customer testing at the facility, which shall include:
  o Work with customers to identify, understand, and coordinate test requirements and test plan
o Define and execute activities needed to deliver the required customer data in accordance with quality expectations.

   Responsible for customer satisfaction in the area of aerodynamics.
o Periodically, will be required to work long hours to meet critical deadlines for customer requirements
 
• Other duties as required, which could include supporting other off-site wind tunnel projects for employer.
• The job is at an operational aerodynamic rolling road wind tunnel.
